Last week, we concluded the Innovation Days Hackathon 2024 at Tern Systems. It's always incredible how productive two days of work can be when teams have no restrictions! Seven innovative projects were presented at the finale.

The overall winning team developed a novel Aircraft Crisis Support Tool for Air Traffic Controllers. The team, located in our Warsaw and Budapest offices, didn’t have a chance to take a photo together, so they came up with this creative idea to depict themselves as a "gang of banditos."

Also depicted are the runners-up, who developed a situational display for aviation enthusiasts.

Kudos to everyone who participated, and special kudos to our expert judges panel: Arnar SigurðssonÁrni Geir ValgeirssonKristín Gróa Þorvaldsdóttir

Noémi transitioned from landscape architecture to UX/UI design after discovering her passion for graphic design. She has worked on diverse projects, from public parks to industrial spaces. After spending six months in New Zealand, she joined Tern Systems as a UX/UI designer, where she is excited to learn more about Air Traffic Control.

Íris brings six years of experience as a graphics programmer at CCP Games. She is now working on Orion Driver at Tern Systems. Outside of work, she stays active by walking her dog and going to the gym, and enjoys relaxing with computer games in her free time.

✈️ We’re thrilled to have them on board and look forward to the great work we’ll accomplish together in shaping the future of air traffic management! 🚀🌞

Big shoutout to Marijke as we wave goodbye and cheer for the amazing new chapter ahead! Marijke hasn't just been part of the team; she's been a driving force, inspiring us all to reach new heights.

And how do we send off such a superstar? With a bang, of course! Last Monday, we celebrated her last day in style - and by style, we mean a custom-made cake that's as unique and fun as she is. Picture this: a cake that's all about mountains, ski slopes, and, because we love a good nod to heritage, skis with Dutch wooden shoes on top! Yes, it was as cool as it sounds, capturing Marijke's love for nature and her Dutch roots perfectly.

Marijke, as you hit the slopes of new beginnings, remember, this isn't goodbye; it's just a "see you later." Here's to you, to adventures, and to a future as bright and bold as Dutch wooden shoes on a snowy mountain top!
